Valerie’s first book received rave reviews from readers. Valerie showcased her remarkable writing talent in this book. A gifted writer with a unique writing style that brilliantly re-created her family ‘s Italian American immigrants life. Good news is Valerie’s first book will make a comeback in 2021, revised version that will take you to the movies. A box of Kleenex is recommended.
And after, Valerie authored  her first book, she discovered her calling, Valerie challenged her writing skills and penned her second book, a fiction of thrilling twist and turns. A well written book. Valerie Caramella lives in East Tennessee raising her 11 year old Son Tristan, who looks just like his mom. Tristan and his Mom Valerie are loving pet owners of two rabbits, named Peanut butter and Stefano.
Lastly, Valerie lives daily with chronic illnesses, one being fibromyalgia. And, is active and supportive in groups. Fundamentally, Valerie is breaking the silence.

Romelia: WHAT IS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF YOUR ARTISTIC PROCESS?

Valerie Caramella: Editing.

Romelia: DOES YOUR FAMILY SUPPORT YOUR CAREER AS A WRITER?

Valerie Caramella: Yes.

Romelia: IF YOU HAD TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENTLY AS A CHILD OR TEENAGER TO BECOME A BETTER WRITER AS AN ADULT, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Valerie Caramella: Overcome my shyness.

Romelia: HOW LONG ON AVERAGE DOES IT TAKE YOU TO WRITE A BOOK?

Valerie Caramella: One year.

Romelia: DO YOU BELIEVE IN WRITER’S BLOCK?

Valerie Caramella: Yes.

Romelia: AT WHAT POINT DO YOU THINK SOMEONE SHOULD CALL THEMSELVES A WRITER?

Valerie Caramella: When you keep coming back to write.

Romelia: WHAT DIFFERENCE DO YOU SEE BETWEEN A WRITER AND AN AUTHOR?

Valerie Caramella: A writer expresses ideas – Author has published novels.

Romelia: HOW DO YOU PROCESS AND DEAL WITH NEGATIVE BOOK REVIEWS?

Valerie Caramella: I actually had one. And, I asked my publisher to examine the errors, and she found nothing wrong. I am so glad I took the time to investigated. 

Romelia: WHAT IS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF YOUR WRITING PROCESS?

Valerie Caramella: Staying dedicated, no matter what.

Romelia: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WRITING OR WHEN DID YOU START?

Valerie Caramella: At the tender age of six, I started writing poems, I wrote my first nonfiction book in 2007, in 2008 I became a published author.

Romelia: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A WRITER WORKING ON THEIR FIRST BOOK?

Valerie Caramella: Edit and proof read your book until your dizzy.  Be active on social media and join as many groups as you can. It’s normal to be excited and anxious to share your product. Enjoy your accomplishment.

Romelia: WHAT, TO YOU, ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENTS OF GOOD WRITING?

Valerie Caramella: Typos, clear ideas, supportive material from beginning to end. 

Romelia: WHAT COMES FIRST FOR YOU – THE PLOT OR THE CHARACTERS – AND WHY?

Valerie Caramella: First plot, second characters.

Romelia: HOW DO YOU DEVELOP YOUR PLOT AND CHARACTERS?

Valerie Caramella: Mostly by being inspired.

Romelia: WHEN DID YOU FIRST CALL YOURSELF A WRITER?

Valerie Caramella: After writing my first book.

Romelia: HOW DO YOU USE SOCIAL MEDIA AS AN AUTHOR?

Valerie Caramella: By actively driving traffic to Facebook, Instagram and Bookbaby publisher bookshop/author profile. And, joining author groups.

Romelia: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE PART OF PUBLISHING?

Valerie Caramella: My favorite part is having a publisher lineup and the least favorite is waiting for everything to finalize.

Romelia: WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO AN AUTHOR WHO WANTED TO DESIGN THEIR OWN COVER?

Valerie Caramella: I did. I highly recommend it. 

Romelia: HOW MANY BOOKS HAVE YOU WRITTEN AND WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE?

Valerie Caramella: Two. First book.

Romelia: WHAT PART OF THE BOOK DID YOU HAVE THE HARDEST TIME WRITING?

Valerie Caramella: Most of it.

Romelia: WHICH OF THE CHARACTERS DO YOU RELATE TO THE MOST AND WHY?

Valerie Caramella: Jaylon Rose.

Romelia: IF YOU’RE PLANNING A SEQUEL. CAN YOU SHARE A TINY BIT ABOUT YOUR PLANS FOR IT?

Valerie Caramella: Jaylon-Rose of Rolling Brook Vol1 and Vol 2 will be available 2021. My first book is making a revised comeback in 2021.

Romelia: TELL US SOMETHING FUNNY ABOUT YOUR ADULT LIFE.

Valerie Caramella: My bunny is named after Italian singer Stefano.

Romelia: describe yourself in a few sentences. Tell us something we do not know about you and something you hate about the world.

Valerie Caramella: I am Catholic, mom, nana, author and I’m raising my 11year old Son Tristan. My son and I are bunny owners/ our therapy pets. I am living with chronic illnesses. I am a Disney fan of Belle. Fan of letter writing-pen-pals / sending cards to my favorite people. What I hate about the world is Discrimination.
